Memorandum

 

 

Subject :- Relief to be extended to the victims of natural calamities.

 

The undersigned is directed to invite a reference to this department memo No.F.12(14) REV/NC/95 dated 18th May, 1996 on relief to be extended to victims of Natural Calamities, and to say that the need for enhancement of scales of Gratuitous Relief has been examined by the Government.

 

2. Accordingly, it has been decided that the provision under Sl.No 1(c ) of the Annexure to the aforesaid memo on relief for the old and infirm and destitute children be modified as follows under the column proposed norm :-

 

Rs. 8/- (Rupees eight) per individual per day subject to a maximum of Rs. 45/- (Rupees forty five) per family per day taking shelter in relief camps.

 

(All other provisions of the said memo remain unaltered)

 

3. This issued in pursuance of decision of council of Ministers communication vide No. F 1(24)-CAB/84 dated 6th June, 2000.

 

4. This order shall take immediate effect.

Norms for Expenditure Under the Calamity Relief fund

In case of one death in a family on account of natural calamities Rs. 5000/- (Rupees Five Thousand ) only would be paid. Incase of more than one death in a family relief would be paid @ 10,000/- (Rupees ten thousand) only per family irrespective of the number of deaths in that family.

Assistant would be given per individual @ Rs. 5,000/- (Rupees five thousand ) only in case of loss of a limb or both eyes on account of natural calamity.

(D) Clothing and utensils for families whose house have been washed away.

Assistance upto Rs. 2000/- (Rupees two hundred) only for clothes and Rs. 200/- (Rupees two hundred ) only for utensils per family. Assistance upto a maximum of Rs. 100/- (Rupees one hundred ) only per family would be available for purchase of books for students provided a certificate by the headmaster / headmistress is produced in support of the application. Rs. 500/- (Rupees five hundred) only per family would be provided for loss of shops in cases where shops have been fully damage on account of calamities.

Supplementary Nutrition

 

In accordance with norms for I.C.D.S centres to malnourished Children below the age of six year and to expecting and lactating mothers.

Assistance to Small / marginal farmers for

(a) Desilting etc.

Assistance would be given @ 25% only of total cost in case of small farmers and 33.33% of the total cost in case marginal farmers subject to maximum of Rs. 1500/- (Rupees one thousand) only.

Not exceeding Rs. 500/- (Rupees five hundred only )per family in case of damage to actually cultivated area.

Assistance would be given @ 25% only of total cost in case of small farmers and 33.33% of the total cost in case marginal farmers subject to maximum of Rs. 1500/- (Rupees one thousand) only.

Assistance would be given @ 300 (Rupees three hundred) per hectare only to small farmers and marginal farmers, subject to maximum Rs. 600/- (Rupees six thousand only).

Assistance to Small and Marginal farmers /Agriculture Laborers

(a) For replacement of bullocks, milch animals, draught animals, Sheeps, goats and pigs.

Relief of Rs. 500/- ( Rupees five hundred ) only for each bullocks miloh cow and buffalo subject to ceiling of Rs. 1000/- ( Rs one thousand ) only per family. For smaller animals Rs 100/- per family. Subject to ceiling of Rs. 200/- per family. The total relief to any one family will not exceed Rs. 1200/- for the loss of all categories of animals.

 
   

(b) For provision of feeder veterinary care and fodder concentrate

Assistance would be given to small and marginal farmers @ 3.00 (Rupees three) per bullock, milch cow and buffalo per day subject to ceiling Rs. 6.00 (Rupees six only) per family per day and @ Rs. 1.50 (Rupees one and fifty paise) only per small animal per day subject to ceiling of Rs 3.00 per family per day. The total relief to any one family will not exceed Rs. 9.00 per day for all categories of animal will be restricted to a maximum of period of 15 days in a year.

Assistance will be limited to Rs 3000/- (Rupees two thousand) only per family even if a number of dwelling units of one family are fully damaged.

Assistant will not exceed Rs 2000/- (Rupees two thousand) only per family even if a number of dwelling units of one family are fully affected. Only such families will be eligible for assistance upto Rs 2000/- /- (Rupees two thousand) only who have lost all dwelling units. Kitchens, cattle-shed etc. are not to be taken in to account for determining eligibility for payment of relief on this account.
