2. Six residential schools exclusively for tribal students of class VI to class XII would be set up in the State at Khumulwong, Ambassa, Kumarghat, Kanchanpur, Birchandra Manu and Karbook by the year 2001. These residential schools would be of the highest standard and would be managed by the Tripura Tribal Welfare Residential Schools Society, an autonomous body under the Tribal Welfare Department. |

5. Vocational Training centres for tribal students, one in each District at Dharmanagar, (North Tripura ), Bishramganj (West Tripura ), Udaipur (South Tripura) and Kulai (Dhalai) would be made functional by December,99. Three more Vocational Training Centres would be setup at Tulasikhar, Mandai and Rupaichari. In each of these centres, 50 tribal youth would be imparted Vocational Training per centre in important employment oriented trades with the help of Union Govt. |
5 (five) Vocational Training Centres at Dharmanagar (North), Kulai (Dhalai), Bisramganj (West), Mandai (West) and Udaipur (South) have already been made functional with a capacity of 50 each. 3(three) more vocational training centres at Tulashikhar (West), Bagafa & Rupaichari (South) are also functioning at present. |

Hon’ble Chief Minister has launched "SWAVALAMBAN", a Self Employment Generation Programme for the unemployed youth of the State on 19th July, 2001. In different training programme either in skill development or EDP as many as 51 ST youth have so far been benefited. Many more ST youth will be benefited. |

12. All the ST Vacancies available in the State Govt., where suitable candidates are available, would be filled up by 2002 AD. |
65 Head of the Departments have furnished report on the vacancy position to GAD. Accordingly 915 posts out of 8031 vacant posts reserved for ST in different Departments have so far been filled up since announcement of the Package. GAD is monitoring the filling up of vacancies in all Departments. |

16. All the important tribal markets which are not connected by road at present would be connected by fair weather road by the year 2002 . In particular, the following 27( twenty seven) most important roads / bridges connecting the most backward villages of the State would be completed by 2002 AD. |

The target for providing houses to 10,000 (ten thousand) S.T. families had already been achieved during the year 1999-2000 itself. However, the programme will continue considering its great importance with a view to cover many more families. |

19(a). A tribal Museum would be setup at Khumulwung by the year 2000 AD. |
Sanction has been received from G.O.I for Rs. 54.50 lakhs for construction of one Tribal Museum at Khumulwung. 75% of construction work completed. |
19(b). A State level tribal cultural festival would be held every year from 1999 .

TRI has been entrusted with the responsibility for organising State level Tribal cultural festival with the assistance from the ICAT Deptt. TRI and Sports & Youth Affairs Deptt. is jointly organising youth festivals regularly. |

20. Linguistic centre would be setup under Tribal research Institute of the State Govt. by December, 2000 AD for research and development of tribal languages
|
The construction of cultural centre at Krishnanagar had been completed and was inaugurated on 27-09-2000 by the Chief Minister. One Project for an amount of Rs.28.00 lakhs, with a view to set up of one linguistic centre under TRI, has been prepared and sent to GOI. One more proposal also sent to the Deptt. of Culture, GOI. Action Plan is being prepared for linguistic centre. Union Govt. is yet to release any fund. In the maen time a Statutory Body has been constituted for preparing status report, grammer, dictionary etc. |

22. Working knowledge of Kokborak would be imparted to all the field level officials of the Tripura Govt. |
Kokborak coaching has already been conducted for the Ministers and high Officials at Agartala. 12 more such centres opened covering all the Districts of the State. At present 6 (Six) NGOs have been selected for Kokborak coaching at Agartala, Udaipur and Kailashahar. |

21. The names of tribal villages rivers etc. which originally had tribal names but were given other names later on, would be renamed after the original tribal names by December,1999. |
State Government has approved the change of 95 names. Necessary Govt. order had been issued on 31-10-2000. Accordingly District Administration & Education Deptt. have taken steps and renamed after the original names. |
23. Comprehensive master plans would be initiated for overall development of Unakoti, Chaturdas Devatabari and Pillak. |
Department of ICAT had finalised the master plan for Unakoti, Chaturdash Devatabari and Pillak. Cafeteria, Yatrika, Sulabh Souchagar and open air stage at Chaturdash Devatabari have been made functional. GOI sanctioned Rs. 53.81 lakhs for integrated development. Out of which Rs. 16.14 lakhs has been released as first installment. MOTA, GOI sanctioned Rs. 50 lakhs for over all development of Unakoti, out of which Rs. 40 lakhs has been released as first installment. Flood lighting and yard lighting have been extended. Other works in progress. ASI taken up construction of one site museum and steps are being taken for maintenance and preservation of architectural remains. There is a proposal for development of Pilak as a Buddhist Heritage Centre. Steps are being taken by ASI for maintenance and preservation of architectural remains as well as for setting up a site museum. One Cafeteria has already been set up. One cottage for accommodation of tourists is under construction. |

Baseline survey was completed in the month of December,1999 covering 29960 PG Tribes population spread over 31 GPs under Kanchanpur Project and 31010 PG Tribes population spread over 47 GPs under Dhalai Project. One 60 Community health workers and 60 Dhais were selected for each of the project from the locality and adequately trained by Medical Officers. All of them have been supplied health kits (twelve types of medicine, by-cycle, uniforms, torch light, identity card etc. by the ICMR. The ICMR has so far placed a fund of Rs.33.15Llacs for both the projects as far pattern of projects two societies have also been formed and a corpus fund has also been built for each of the project with Rs. 15 Lacs each. The interest from the corpus fund are being used by the Societies for meeting cost of transportation of seriously ill patients and providing emergent medicines etc. |
