Raj Bhaban - Pushpavanta Palace

The Agartala Raj Bhavan, situated at Kunjaban, is having a total area of 1.76 hectares of land. The small, but beautiful, 'Pushpavant Palace' which was constructed in 1917 AD by Maharaja Birendra Kishore Manikya (1909-1923) is now renamed as Raj Bhavan.

Gurudev Rabindranath Tagore came to Tripura last on 22nd February, 1926, and stayed in the 'Pushpavant Palace', i.e., Raj Bhavan, for the first time. Gurudev came to Tripura as many as seven times, 1926 being the last visit, during the reign of Maharaja Bir Bikram Kishore Manikya.
